Ripped from the Travel Notes of Little Red

Lao Tzu:
Little Red, a good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving.

Getting on the "More Fun In the Philippines" Craze

I am having fun with the “morefunmaker memes” at http://morefunmaker.com. I uploaded some of my pictures so that it will have a “More Fun in the PHILIPPINES” label. It’s so very easy. All you have to do is log on to their website and upload your pictures from your computer, then you type any catchy word or phrase that best describes the subject of your picture, and oops there it is! You are also given a choice where to position the “More fun…” caption, plus you may also type your name in for the authorship. However, your name doesn’t appear on the picture, mind you. It’s only visible on the website itself.

Well, here are some of my pictures. These, for me, are what make the Philippines more fun.

If you are lucky, you'd chance upon a fish vendor on the street
with the best catch of the day!

Now here is what becomes of the best catch of the day. All that is missing here is a  bottle of ice-cold San Miguel Beer or Red Horse. Now, that would be a perfect match!

If you want to travel anywhere in the Philippines to discover and experience its beauty and culture, then heed this travel tip: distance does not matter! Like what Lao Tzu said, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

The Philippine mangoes are the best in the world. When they are unripe and green, they are crisp and sour, and are best paired with "ginamos". Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Ripe and yellow, they are deliciously fragrant. You can just wash and peel them from the pointy tip and eat the sweet and succulent yellow flesh all the way to the hairy seed. The Ilonggos call this style of eating as "urab". Of all provinces in the Philippines, the Guimaras Island mango variety is the most popular as it is considered to be the sweetest.

When the pool is not possible, there are other ways to practice swimming.
In this country, anything goes.

To swim on a high tide or a low tide? It doesn't matter! Swimming is indeed fun when the water is so blue and clear, and the crystal white sand is visible under your feet even when the water is already deep. Guimaras has so many islands, you can go island hopping there for two hours or more. Motorboats for hire are aplenty on popular resorts. They can take you swimming on shallow waters like this one.

Boracay shorelines with its powdery white sand is one of kind. Its tranquil, crystal-clear waters is perfect for swimming and other water sports. With waters like this, who isn't tempted to jump in and have fun under the sun?

When I was a young child, the street was my playground. One of my favorite street games which I can confidently say that I excelled in was Chinese Garter. :D

When the road is less traveled by, you can literally lie down and safely catch that power nap that you badly need after a  long and tiring hike.

Need I say more? Aren't they sweet?!!! :D
